Horse and Hoof Runway is a game for iPhone made by Deep Challenger VR LLC (“we”). This policy covers the game and the services it uses. Questions: privacy@deepchallengervr.com.
In short: the game asks for no name, email, phone number or photo, and has no sign-in. Your account is a random-looking number made from your copy of the game, not from you. There is no chat: nothing you type ever reaches other players, and players’ names come from fixed word lists. There are no ads and no tracking, we do not sell or share personal information, and you can delete your account in the game at any time.
The first time you play, the game asks the App Store for its record of your copy of the game (Apple’s AppTransaction, signed by Apple). Our server checks Apple’s signature and makes your account from the record’s transaction number, scrambled so that we never keep the number itself. The same Apple Account gets the same game account on another iPhone or after reinstalling. Apple does not tell us your name, Apple Account or anything else about you. Your phone keeps a secret key for your account in its Keychain, so the game can sign in without asking you.
Your account on our server holds: your player name (two words you choose from the game’s lists, such as “Sparkly Mustang”), your coins and level, the clothes and tack you own, and a list of every coin you earned or spent and every item you got. While every item is free, getting one still goes through your account.
When you play, our server puts you in a room with up to 12 other players and runs the round there. The other players in your room see your player name, your rider and horse (the look you made), where your rider walks in the lobby, the moves you choose on the runway, and your place on the podium. Ratings are not shown to anyone: other players never see who gave which stars. The room keeps your look and ratings until the round ends, and the room itself is deleted when everyone has left.
There is no voice or text chat, and nothing you type reaches anyone.
In a room you can hide a player’s look on your phone, or report them. A report sends us the room, the reason you chose (such as unfair ratings), both players’ names and account numbers, the round and its theme, and the time. The reported player is not told. Only we can read reports; we use them to keep the game fair and safe, and delete them after 180 days.
Your rider and horse, your settings (sound, music, vibration, picture) and the players you hid stay on your phone and are not sent to us, except your look, which goes to the players in your room as described above.
The game’s server runs on Cloudflare. Like any internet service, it receives your IP address with each connection; we use it only to deliver the game and to count requests for about a minute to stop abuse, and we do not store it with your account. Cloudflare keeps logs of the service for up to 7 days to diagnose problems.
We may disclose information if the law requires it. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Horse and Hoof Runway is made to be safe for players of all ages, including children. It asks for no personal information, has no chat, uses names from fixed lists, shows no ads and has no third-party tracking. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you think a child has given us personal information, write to privacy@deepchallengervr.com and we will delete it.
In the game, open Settings and choose Delete my account. Your name, coins, level, items and their list are deleted from our server at once. Your rider and horse stay on your phone; deleting the game removes them. Reports you sent or that name you are kept for up to 180 days; to have them deleted sooner, write to privacy@deepchallengervr.com. Anyone, wherever they live, can also ask us by email what we hold about them or to delete it, free of charge.
